Smell/Olfactory

What does the animal smell? What scents are they exposed to?

Consider the following:

• Human smells, including perfumes and cologne.

• Animal smells, especially those of other species, stressed animals and/or pheromones

• Chemicals and cleaners

• Food

Note: Air movement and duct direction at the level of the animalmay contribute to which kennels receive more smells. This can add to overstimulation, or eliciting exaggerated protection and or fear responses.
